On April 17th, through our partnership with the USC Family of Schools, USC Young Scientist Program (YSP) provided an incredible opportunity for our Fourth and Fifth Grade students to participate in the Neuroscience Studio. There were multiple brain related stations set up. Students created neurons, made their own brains, learned about Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), engaged in sensory activities and observed and handled a sheep's brain. It was an experience our students will remember for years to come. Thank you to all the USC Volunteers and Dieuwertje "DJ" Kast, USC Young Scientist Program (YSP) STEM Programs Manager for the USC Joint Educational Project (JEP), for your time and investment in our young people through teaching them about the brain and nurturing the love of learning and science!
